The Folder Panel

This displays details of an individual folder. It has five tabs, showing different aspects of the folder.

Home Tab

The home tab shows over all information about the folder at the top of the tab. The red dot on the top-right of the tab indicates the synchronization percentage of the folder.

Button Bar

The tab also has a button bar with the following buttons:

Sync Now

This synchronizes the folder with peer members.

Open Folder

This opens the folder in your computer's file browser.

Send Invitation

This opens the Send Invitation wizard, which alows you to send folder invitations to friends.

Remove Folder

This removes the folder from PowerFolder.

Folder Information

The folder information section at the bottom of the tab shows the following details:

Synchronization percentage

This shows the synchronization percentage of the folder.

Synchronization ETA

This shows the estimated time that the folder will be synchronized.

Number of local files in folder

This shows the number of files on your computer.

Number of available files at other members

This shows the number of files available from other members.

Date of last file change

This shows the last file changed date in the folder.

Local size

This shows the local size of the folder on your computer.

Total size

This shows the total size of the folder.

Local folder location

This shows the location of the folder on your computer. You can relocate the folder by clicking the button at the right of this field.

Files Tab

View Control

This top of this tab has three components that control the view of the files table at the bottom of the tab:

Flat view

Checking this box displays the entire folder in the table, instead of by directory.

Files display

This displays folder files of various type:

  • Local and incoming files
  • Local files only
  • Incoming files only
  • New files only (ones that have recent downloads)
  • Deleted and recycled files

Filename filter

This filters the displayed files by file name. The filter works on any part of the filename; e.g. 'de' selects 'Node.ico', 'Delete.txt' and 'test.deb'.

Button bar

This shows the following buttons for the tab:

Download Files

This downloads files that are pending download.

Open File

This opens the file in its default application.

Details

This opens a details panel below the folder table, showing thing like size, version, etc.

Open Folder

This opens the folder in your computer's file browser.

Files table

The files table displays the files for the folder, as selected by the View Control components.

Members Tab

The member tab displays a list of members of a folder on the left of the tab. Clicking on a member displays the following information to the right of the tab:

Member

This is the name of the folder member.

Folder

This is the name of the folder.

Folder Size

This is the total size of the folder.

Local Size

This is the size of the folder on the member's computer.

Total sync

This is the synchronization percentage of the folder on the member's computer.

Chat Tab

This tab allows you to chat with folder members. You can enter messages in the bottom part of the tab and messages received from folder members appear in the top part. The top part also displays some standard connection messages.

Settings Tab

The settings tab allows you to configure some folder settings:

Chose transfer mode

You can choose the transfer mode for the folder, which determines how the folder synchronizes files with other members. Preset transfer modes are :

  • Automatic synchronization
  • Manual synchronization
  • Backup (source)
  • Backup (target)
  • Automatic download
  • Share/Send

You can also create, edit and delete your own custom transfer modes.

Use recycle bin

Checking this box will cause PowerFolder to delete files to the recycle bin, from where they can be recovered if necessary.

Ignore patterns

You can configure file patterns. PowerFolder will ignore files mathcing these patterns when synchronizing the folder. See [Regular Expressions] for information on defining file patterns.
