Do i need the Online Storage?
NO unlike other solutions powerfolder does not need any online space to work. The data can be transferred directly between the clients without limitations. Especially as a company you might be not interested to store your data somewhere else, than on your own servers. With PowerFolder you can do so. You can use PowerFolder directly in your closed VPN or LAN (LAN-Only networking mode). Non the less the Online Storage is a secure alternative and allows you remote access (to the files stored on the Online Storage) to your files when you are not at home and your computers are offline.
The Online Storage from within the client
The fastest and most common way to access your Online Storage data is the PowerFolder Client. You can upload and download complete folders or single files. The client is easy to install and be used on Windows, MAC and Linux.
The Online Storage from within a Browser
If you don't want to install PowerFolder but still access your files from some remote computer, you just need to go to: http://www.powerfolder.com/ and login to your Online Storage account. There you can browse your files and download them if you need. Also you can upload single files.
Remove a folder from the Online Storage
To remove a folder from the Online storage please login to your account.Select the Online Storage, select the settings tab, and press the remove button.
Change the settings of the Online Storage
You can change the way the Online storage is used by simply selecting a Sync profile. So you can control if it is working as a mirror or a backup of your data. To do so, login to your account, select the folder you want to modify and choose the settings panel.
